Itinerary

Day 1: Uros Floating Islands, Taquile Island & Luquina Chico

The Luquina Homestay Tour begins at 6:45 AM, with the first stop at the famous Uros Floating Islands, a group of more than 70 handmade floating islands inhabited by the Uros, an ethnic group of fishermen descended from one of the region's most ancestral cultures.
After this magical experience, we continue on to Taquile Island, where you'll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Lake Titicaca along the way.
A long, gradually ascending path leads up to the village, with unique views that make every step of the walk worthwhile.
A roughly 30-minute hike brings you to the local communal cooperative, where you'll find high-quality handmade textiles crafted by the island's artisans.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before descending back toward the harbor to depart for the Luquina Chico community — the final stop of the day, and the heart of the Luquina Homestay Tour experience.
In Luquina Chico, hike up to a scenic lookout point to admire the shores of Lake Titicaca and watch the sunset over the water.
After a home-cooked dinner with your host family, spend the night at your homestay accommodation in Luquina Chico.

  • Includes: private transport, bilingual guide, entrance fees, accommodation, meals (lunch, dinner).
  • Excludes: optional reed boat ride.

Day 2: From Luquina Chico to Puno

After breakfast at 8:00 AM, there is an option to participate in the live of the family host (sheep herding, agriculture) depending of the season or enjoy some free time to explore the surroundings — you can hike up to the top of the hill for a magnificent view over the landscape and lake.
After lunch 12:00pm, get ready to depart back toward Puno, bringing the Luquina Homestay Tour to a close upon arrival at approximately 3:00 PM.

  • Includes: private transport, bilingual guide, breakfast, lunch.
