What to take for Amantani tour?
For Amantani tour or 2 days tour in Titicaca you will need the following equipment:
- Hat or cap, the sun is very important at the level of the lake.
- Sunscreen, we advise you to use sunscreen every 2 hours, the sun is very strong and reflection in the lake too.
- Sunglasses, the reflex of the lake might be very strong we advise you to use them all the time during your Amantani tour.
- Shoes to walk, during Amantani homestay tour you will walk to get to the local houses to get to the Amantani viewpoints, so you must take your hiking shoes or at least sneakers but not hills.
- Money in cash, to buy water, snacks, or even souvenirs you will need Soles or Dollars but only cash, no one accept cards during Amantani tour.

Itinerary
Day 1 – floating islands, Amantani homestay (Lunch, Dinner)
For the Amantani tour we will pick you up from your elected hotel between 7:45 am to 8:00 am we will bring you to the pier where you will take the motorboat, the boat has a covered section in case of rain or cold weather.
After 20 minutes of navigation we will arrive at Uros stepping on the Uros floating islands feels a lot like being on a waterbed however it is safe, then the guide explained the families will invite you to take a look inside their houses and later on to ride their reed boat (optional, 10 soles each) we will visit two of the more than one hundred islands of the Uros community then we take our motor boat to continue and after 2 hours 30 minutes approximately we arrive to Amantani island in lake Titicaca.
When you will arrive at Amantani island harbor you will probably see local families running down the hill to welcome you, the group will be divided into small groups to designate the host family (each family receives between 2 and 4 people) subsequently they will take you to their houses to serve you a typical lunch made with natural products.
The plan after lunch is to hike to the highest point of the island for sunset and to have a 360-degree view. Get back to your host family dinner and after dinner, your host family will dress you up in traditional local costumes and take you to the community hall for a small celebration (optional), it is a lot of fun!
Overnight at the Homestay (Basic facilities)
Day 2 – Amantani /Taquile / Puno (Breakfast)
Depart from Amantani island to Taquile Island after breakfast (one-hour boat ride) we arrive at this unique island and progressively climbing path will be required towards the village that takes approximately 30 minutes, there you can visit the communal cooperative and there are plenty of photo opportunities on the way. After the guide’s explanation and demonstration of the awesome culture and knitting technique, we will enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants with a magnificent view of Titicaca lake.
After lunch we depart from Taquile towards Puno arriving approximately at 4:00 pm upon your arrival we will bring you back to your elected hotel or the main square.
