Licensed tour guide
Elmer Mendoza is a licensed tour guide from Puno, Peru, and the founder of Highland Adventure. He has guided travelers around Lake Titicaca, the Colca Canyon and Cusco for 10 years.
Born and raised in Puno, he holds an official tour guide license and speaks Spanish, English French and Quechua. He still designs and leads many of the agency's trips himself, from kayak tours on Lake Titicaca and homestays in Luquina and Llachón to the Colca Canyon trek, Pallay Punchu and the Cusco to Puno route.
On this blog he writes practical guides based on those trips: when to go, how to handle the altitude, what to pack and how to choose the right tour.
